A foundational element of any credentialing examination is the framework which outlines the knowledge, skills, abilities, tasks and or competencies to be measured. But what approach should program leaders take to create this framework? And what should the final framework represent? The presenters in this webinar will unpack the myriad of terms, methods and design alternatives to help programs understand their options for defining the expectations within their exams.
Most credentialing organizations recognize the importance of conducting a job task analysis (or job analysis, task analysis) but rarely understand their options for doing so and how key characteristics of their program should drive the design of this process and define the intended outcome. The presenters will review the variety of methodologies available in this space and provide attendees with a framework for marrying the methodology with their specific program characteristics and for making decisions as to what their final content framework should look like. This framework will help attendees determine what type of process(s) they can use to analyze the current job requirements, how to gather collaborative input from various stakeholders during this process and how to use all sources of input to make the final decisions about the content framework.
In this webinar the presenters will:
- Review the current landscape including terminology, methods and ways to represent what is to be measured on an exam
- Provide guidance to programs on how they can design the job analysis to gather collaborative input from various stakeholders and develop a stakeholder engagement plan for all aspects of the process.
- Outline considerations for developing the final content framework based on multiple sources of input from the job analysis.
