Title:
Getting and Keeping a Seat at the Table: Using Measurement to Demonstrate Learning’s Business Value

Synopsis:
If you want to sit with the executive team at the table where your organization's strategic direction is being planned, you need to use quantitative and qualitative measures to prove learning's contribution to organizational success.
Key functions in your organization already use business measures to chart their progress relative to the annual strategic plan. Learning's job is to define and monitor corresponding learning measures that enable performance by the business functions, and in doing make those business measures meaningful.

This interactive session will discuss:

  • Why Learning today doesn't really have a seat at the table
  • Strategies and tactics for getting a seat at the table in your organization
  • What business measures your stakeholders are already using to chart their performance against the annual strategic plan
  • What corresponding learning measures you need to use to quantify the difference Learning makes in supporting strategic initiatives
  • Tools used to collect, monitor, and report on business and learning measures

Several functional examples will be presented. Questions will be taken at the end of the session.
The seats at the executive table are filled with business people. To get and keep a seat, you must prove that you are one of them!
