Learn the basics of Questionmark OnDemand

Course Overview

This is a comprehensive, hands-on course that covers all phases of the Questionmark assessment process. This course enables participants to effectively use the major components and features of the Questionmark OnDemand assessment system. Participants will learn to:

  • Author assessments using the collaborative web based authoring platform
  • Publish assessments for delivery and explore the different delivery options and assessment controls.
  • Generate reports based on assessment results using Questionmark reporting and analytics features.
  • Create and manage role based permissions for participants, administrators and authors.

Hours: 9:00 am to 5:00 pm each day
Breaks: 15 minute break in morning; 1 hour for lunch; 15 minute in afternoon

It is assumed that trainees have little or no previous experience using Questionmark software, but have good keyboard skills and general experience with other web-based applications.

Content Authoring - Developing Topics

  • Identify the significance of topics and their outcomes in terms of diagnostic feedback
  • Identify the significance of topics in terms of security
  • Develop a topic structure
  • Modify an existing topic structure
  • Identify how Questionmark’s topic and assessment folder security controls and limits how authors create new content

Content Authoring - Creating Questions

  • Identify the fundamental elements of a question (stimulus, choices and outcomes)
  • Distinguish among the types of questions available
  • Distinguish among the different classes of questions (selection, constructed response, choice/option pairs)
  • Create questions of each class
  • Insert resources into the question stimulus, choice or feedback
  • Identify various methods for importing questions
  • Identify question metatags and the purpose for them.
  • Identify question delivery status and the purpose for them.
  • Identify question properties and their useful purpose

Content Authoring - Developing Assessments

  • Identify the primary components of an assessment
  • Create an assessment
  • Create a multi-block assessment
  • Understand Jump Blocks and their use to create adaptive assessments
  • Configure an assessment to display topic and assessment level outcomes
  • Specify the result of a demographic field to be used in report filtering
  • Insert instructional content in an outcome’s feedback
  • Prepare an assessment to be delivered by Publishing for delivery
  • Recognise how templates and style sheets can be used to control the look and feel of an assessment
  • Create a content package for use in an LMS or generate an assessment URL to launch assessments

Introduction to Questionmark Portal

  • Identify the main components of Questionmark’s Portal
  • Determine which set of Questionmark tools to use for a given task

System Administration

  • Differentiate between participants and administrator roles.
  • Identify the role based permissions model used in Questionmark
  • Recognise how roles may be applied to individual accounts to manage various sets of permissions
  • Identify how the scheduling options control access to assessments
  • Identify how individual participants are provided access to assessments
  • Recognise how the E-mail Broadcast features can be used to communicate with participants regarding schedules

Results Management

  • Identify the purpose of each of the Results Manager tools
  • Describe how to score an essay or spoken response question with the Scoring Tool
  • Describe how to manually modify an assessments result with the Score Editor
  • Describe how to import results to the answer database with Results Importer
  • Describe how to remove results from the answer database with Results Remove

Creating Reports

  • Distinguish among the reports available in Report Manager
  • Recognise which reports operate on assessments and which operate on participants
  • Identify the use of Report Manager to modify report templates
  • Distinguish among the different dashboards available in the Questionmark Analytics
  • Identify the functional differences between reports and analytic dashboards
