Example PIP files

Applies to the following products:
Questionmark OnDemand
Questionmark Perception
Questionmark OnPremise
Applies to the following Perception versions:
Perception 5.7
Perception 5.4
Perception 5.2
Perception 5.1

By default, some example PIP files come packaged with Questionmark.

For Perception users, these files can by default be found in C:\Program Files\Questionmark\server\pip\examples.

For OnDemand and OnPremise users, these files can be found in Authoring > Resources > PIP.

OnDemand/OnPremise/Perception 5.7

In OnDemand, OnPremise, and Perception 5.7, qmwise.pip and sps.pip are the ONLY PIP files included by default. If you want to create a Content Package to launch an assessment from an LMS through AICC, SCORM 1.2, or SCORM 2004:

  • OnDemand and OnPremise users will need to download and upload the relevant PIP file in Authoring > Resources > PIP,
  • and Perception users will need to upload it via Resource Manager (Authoring | Resource Manager | PIP).

AICC and SCORM assessments launched without the appropriate PIP files will fail. You can download these PIP files, as well as perception.pip and qs.pip, below (right-click and save as):

Perception 5.4

In Perception 5.4, the following example PIP files are installed by default:

Example PIP file Description
perception.pip

This file starts a Questionmark assessment with PIP. Please refer to perception.pip for more information on this example file.

aicc.pip

This file enables you to use PIP for AICC interoperability.

scorm.pip

This file passes topic percentages in the PIP output to the notify URL.

qmwise.pip

Certain QMWISe methods, e.g., GetAccessAssessmentNotify, require a PIP file as an input parameter. The file qmwise.pip can be used for this purpose. For more information on QMWISe, please refer to the Questionmark QMWISe API Guide.

qs.pip

This file starts a Questionmark assessment in Questionmark Secure. Please refer to qs.pip for more information on this example file.

aicc_qs.pip

This file is for using AICC with Questionmark Secure. It does the same thing as aicc.pip except that it starts an assessment in Questionmark Secure.

Please refer to Collecting demographic data for an example PIP file that demonstrates how to use PIP to collect demographic data.
