ADV10. Using a non-English version of Windows Server 2008
Non-English versions of Windows Server 2008 are not supported for Perception 5.4. However, non-English versions of Windows might work with Perception after modifications to some settings, but please be aware that doing so is at your own risk. If you do decide to use a non-English version of Windows Server 2008 (or R2), such as the German version of Windows Server 2008, you will need to add a setting to the QM.ETL.exe.config file so that the ETL service functions correctly.
To do this:
- Open the QM.ETL.exe.config file on the server on which Perception is installed with an text editor, like Notepad.
By default, the location of the QM.ETL.exe.config file is:
- In the <AppSettings> section, add an app setting for ETLServerTimeZone setting:
e.g.: <add key="ETLServerTimeZone" value="E. Europe Standard Time"/>
...where value= is the time zone ID of the time zone where your Perception server is located.
- Save the changes you've made to the QM.ETL.exe.config file and exit Notepad
The ETL service should now function correctly.
