Questionmark Perception AICC Support

Launch assessments from a management system safely and securely!
With Questionmark's Publish to LMS feature you can call assessments from a management system using the AICC HACP standard. The Aviation Industry CBT (Computer-Based Training) Committee (AICC) is an international association of technology-based training professionals. The AICC develops guidelines for aviation industry in the development, delivery, and evaluation of CBT and related training technologies. Management systems include learning management systems, course management systems, learning content management systems and virtual learning environments

How it works: Online Delivery

Most management systems support the AICC HACP standard for Computer Managed Instruction. Within the LMS, you either enter the ID of the assessment to be run, or else you import a set of AICC course description files created by Perception Publish to LMS.

A participant then logs into the LMS and sees a link to the assessment at the appropriate place. The LMS then calls Perception to run the assessment, and Perception returns the overall results to the LMS for tracking and storage.

Using AICC HACP, the Perception and LMS servers talk directly to each other via HTTP, making it reasonably secure.

How it works: Offline Delivery

Questionmark to Go can deliver assessments via an AICC content page you create using the Publish to LMS feature available in both Authoring Manager and Enterprise Manager:

  1. An assessment author or administrator used the Publish to LMS wizard to create an AICC package that is then uploaded to an AICC compliant learning management system.
  2. The assessment is scheduled via the LMS, enabling participants to access and download the assessment.
  3. The participant may complete the assessment even if discconnected from the Internet.
  4. Once Internet connection is re-established, Questionmark to Go automatically uploads results of completed assessment.

Supporting Industry Standards

Questionmark Perception has been certified compliant with AICC AGR-010 since 1999. It was the first testing and assessment engine to be compliant. Other parts of Questionmark Perception also support IMS Content Packaging, IMS QTI, SCORM 1.2, SCORM 2004, PENS and LOM (Learning Object Metadata).

Open standards allow people to customise their e-Learning systems by linking the best systems from different vendors and having them all work together. Being able to connect in this way paves the way for a future in which an increasing number of systems will be connected

Allows you to
  • Integration with most LMS vendors
  • To work with Perception and an LMS installed on different servers
  • Good security as Perception passes results back to the LMS, independently of the participant’s technology
  • To pass total percentage score, time taken and topic scores back to the LMS
  • To obtain more detailed information, for example question statistics and item analysis, by using Questionmark Perception’s reporting facilities.
