Sharon Shrock and William Coscarelli to Address Questionmark Users Conference

STAMFORD, CT – November 5, 2003 – Instructional design experts and award winning authors Sharon Shrock and William Coscarelli will deliver a keynote address at the second annual Questionmark Users Conference February 24-27, 2004 in San Diego, California.

Shrock and Coscarelli’s talk on “Testing Triage: Critical Decisions for Level 2 Assessments” will open the second morning of the conference for users of Questionmark™ Perception™ testing and assessment software. Participants will spend three days discussing best practices in assessment and learning about the latest techniques for deploying computerized quizzes, tests, exams and surveys. Questionmark has some 1,800 customers at corporations, colleges, universities and government agencies in more than 50 countries.

Sharon Shrock is professor of instructional development and evaluation at Southern Illinois University, where she is coordinator of graduate programs in instructional design and technology. She has consulted with a number of global corporations in developing criterion-referenced assessment systems. Shrock is the first author of the award winning book, Criterion-Referenced Test Development: Technical and Legal Guidelines for Corporate Training and Certification.

Bill Coscarelli is professor of instructional development and instructional technology at Southern Illinois University and co-author of The Guided Design Guidebook, The Decision Making Inventory, and Criterion-Referenced Test Development: Technical and Legal Guidelines for Corporate Training and Certification. Dr. Coscarelli has been an active testing consultant. He is founding editor of Performance Improvement Quarterly and is past president of the International Society for Performance and Improvement.

“Having Sharon Shrock and Bill Coscarelli share their knowledge of test authoring is very exciting,” said Questionmark President Eric Shepherd. “Bill and Sharon are widely recognized not only for their knowledge of effective test authoring but for their ability to explain test writing principles. Our users thirst for training that will help them develop good and fair quizzes, tests and surveys and we thrilled that they were able to fit us into their busy schedules”.

Donald Kirkpatrick, Ph.D., an internationally recognized expert in the field of training program development and evaluation, will speak about “The Four Levels of Learning Measurement” during the opening keynote presentation at the conference.
