Questionmark Expands into Europe

STAMFORD, CT - December 14, 2001 - Testing and assessment software provider Questionmark has acquired a new European office in Belgium to accelerate new language translations and improve its penetration into the European market.

The new company, now trading as Questionmark Europe, formerly traded under the Questionmark banner as Question Mark Logiciels. Now, as an integral part of Questionmark, it will have greater responsibility for developing Questionmark's European network.

The company has worked closely with Questionmark to help translate Questionmark™ Perception™ testing and assessment software into other European languages. Perception is already available in English, German, French, Spanish and Dutch. A Japanese version is also being created.

"Extending our marketing reach and deployment services in Europe is an important part of our strategy, "said Eric Shepherd, president of Questionmark. "This acquisition will simplify our corporate licensing for multi-national deployments and help us maintain a valuable information flow with our clients."

"We have enjoyed steady growth in the Europe as an independent company," says Questionmark Europe managing director Roland Nyns. "But now, as part of Questionmark, we will be able to increase our investment in translations and product related services."

Questionmark has enjoyed steady expansion in Europe and the UK at a time when many companies in the associated e-leaning sector have found trading more difficult. Explains Nyns: "We've benefited from having an employee-owned organisation which has not had to contract at the slightest dip in the marketplace. This, coupled with Perception's outstanding features, has placed the company in an enviable position for the coming year. We're delighted to be part of the Questionmark team."

About Questionmark:
Questionmark has been producing testing and assessment software since 1988. Perception gives organizations an easy-to-use tool to create and deliver tests, quizzes and surveys on Intranets, the Internet or using Windows PCs. Test authors need no programming experience or knowledge of HTML. Assessments can feature many different question types, with questions pre-selected or dynamically assembled from question banks. Managers and test authors both get extensive reporting and analysis to help them in their work with assessments.

Businesses, government agencies, schools, colleges, and universities in more than 50 countries use Questionmark software. Typical applications include exams, quizzes, study aids, diagnostic tests, pre-course skills assessments, and course evaluations. Questionmark is actively involved with the IMS Global Learning Consortium and supports open standards. Visit www.questionmark.com for more information.
