New Questionmark Perception Release Offers New Test Center Management Tools
Latest Version Handles Scheduling and Management of Large Datasets with Ease

NORWALK, CT – March 8, 2006 – Questionmark, a leading provider of testing and assessment software, today unveiled the newest version of the Questionmark™ Perception™ assessment management system. The release combines a new scheduling interface with many other enhancements that make it easier to manage large numbers of participants, administer assessments at certified test centers and provide a better overall participant experience.

Perception Version 4.2 offers easy definition and scheduling of groups and individual participants, even for large numbers of people. The software’s test center management tools make it possible to schedule tests for specific test centers and to require proctor log-ins for high stakes tests. Here are some key new features and enhancements:

• Intuitive new user interfaces for managing participants and schedules make it easier to find and create schedules for groups, participants, assessments.
• It is possible to require that a test to be delivered only at specified test center, and require proctor-login before the participant begins the test.
• Perception’s new “browser check” ensures smooth delivery by allowing a participant to log in to an assessment only when a compatible browser and configuration are detected.
• Administrators may organize participants in hierarchical groups that reflect multiple divisions, departments, branches or locations of their organization
• Administrators have more control and flexibility for scheduling tests and accommodating participants with special needs.
• New functionality provides assurance to participants who lose connectivity or power during a high-stakes exam, freezing the time limit and restarting where they left off once connectivity is reestablished.

The new version also leverages recent improvements to Perception’s authoring tool – most notably a toolbar that authors can use to rapid search item banks in local or shared repositories. Authors can enter a word or phrase to locate question stimuli, choices, feedback, metatags, descriptions, topic names or author names. They can also search for certain question types, or search by delivery status.
