Questionmark Updates Blackboard Connector for Questionmark Perception Version 4
Perception Assessments Link with the Blackboard Learning System

STAMFORD, CT – August 9, 2005 – Questionmark, providers of testing and assessment software, today announced the release of a software connector that links the Blackboard Learning System™ to the new Questionmark™ Perception™ Version 4 assessment management system.

Using the Questionmark Perception Blackboard Connector, students and instructors seamlessly link to Perception assessments from within the Blackboard Learning System. This means institutions can maintain student and instructor profiles within one system while taking advantage of the powerful assessment features of Perception. Assessments can be scheduled from within Blackboard, with instructors viewing assessments that pertain to each particular course.

Questionmark Perception provides educators an innovative set of tools that enable easy creation, secure delivery and comprehensive reporting of surveys, quizzes, tests and exams. The Blackboard Learning System™ is a web-based course management system used by thousands of institutions worldwide to deliver learning content, manage curricula and provide instructors and students collaborative applications such as discussion boards and virtual classrooms.

Questionmark is committed to working with industry leaders to create interoperability and common functionality. The Questionmark Perception Blackboard Connector enables students registered in Blackboard to link to Perception and then back to Blackboard. Instructors likewise can link to Perception, incorporating quizzes, tests, course evaluations, and surveys into their courses as and when they like. Results are not only maintained within Perception for item analysis, but the high level results are also stored within Blackboard’s grade book for easy access by students and instructors. For high-stakes exams, institutions can use Questionmark Secure to prevent test takers from exiting to other programs.

Questionmark Perception Version 4 offers educators a host of new assessment management features such as workflow management, distributed authoring, drag-and-drop publishing, easy-to-use WYSIWYG HTML authoring, and powerful content management capabilities make it easier to organize, store, secure and publish assessment content. Other new features include shared assessment content repositories, support for cascading style sheets, and multiple security levels throughout the assessment management process – from authoring to delivery to reporting.

About Questionmark:
Questionmark has been producing testing and assessment software since 1988. The Questionmark Perception assessment management system allows people to create question files without programming experience or knowledge of HTML. Users can create multiple question banks from which to assemble tests and surveys, organizing questions into topics and sub-topics. They can shuffle questions and answers for each participant and preview sessions to see how they will appear post-deployment. They can present questions with videos, graphics and a wide variety of styles. Participants receive feedback as specified by the test author. Answers are saved to a file for scoring and analysis in a variety of report formats.

Businesses, governments, schools, colleges, and universities in more than 50 countries use Questionmark software. Questionmark has more than 2,200 customers using Perception and is a keen supporter of open standards. Typical applications include exams, quizzes, study aids, diagnostic tests, pre-course skills assessments, and course evaluations. Questionmark offers training courses and extensive learning materials designed to improve assessment authoring and management.
