Questionmark Releases New Integration with Blackboard
Enhanced “Connector” Links Questionmark Perception Assessments
to Blackboard Learning System

NORWALK, CT – February 28, 2006 – Testing and assessment software provider Questionmark today announced the release of a new version of the software “connector” that links the Blackboard Learning System™ to the Questionmark™ Perception™ assessment management system.

The integration enables organizations to take advantage of Perception’s assessment authoring, delivery and reporting technology in concert with the user, course, content and grade management features of the Blackboard Learning System. Instructors using Blackboard software can link their courses to Perception for quizzes, surveys and secure delivery of exams. Students may take Perception assessments, receive feedback, and view results in Blackboard’s Gradebook or Perception’s Coaching Report.

The new release supports a broader range of system configurations while providing instructors more control over how students access assessments and view their results. The connector uses Blackboard’s Building Block technology to integrate the Blackboard Learning System versions 6.0 and higher with the latest version of Questionmark Perception.

“When educators have the flexibility to choose and integrate best-of-breed applications, they can provide students a more compelling and effective learning experience,” said Blackboard CEO and president Michael Chasen. ”As online testing has become an increasingly integral part of the academic experience, we’re pleased that the integration with Questionmark gives Blackboard users a broad, complementary range of options for creating and using assessments.”

“Our longstanding partnership with Blackboard means customers can benefit from the collective experience and expertise of both organizations,” added Questionmark CEO Eric Shepherd. “The connector empowers educators to deploy innovative, collaborative solutions to meet the learning and assessment needs of their students and organizations.

Questionmark Perception software enables educators and trainers to create, deliver and report on surveys, quizzes, tests and exams. Key features and functions include workflow management, twenty different question types, efficient management of large item banks, and shared content repositories that enable collaborative, distributed authoring. Institutions have the option of using the Questionmark Secure add-on for delivering high-stakes exams.

The Blackboard Academic Suite is a course management system used by thousands of institutions worldwide to deliver learning content, manage curricula and provide instructors and students collaborative applications such as discussion boards and virtual classrooms.
