Self -Awareness: Improving Working Relationships and Learning Environments
Synopsis:
Join Rebecca Bales of Insights Learning & Development for an interactive session that will demonstrate how self-awareness makes for more effective working relationships and a better environment for learning. Get actively involved in discovering how we use our perception to make judgments about people in the first three seconds of meeting them. But what if our judgments are wrong? In order to work more effectively with others or help them learn we need to understand them and what makes them tick. But before we can do this, we need to understand ourselves! Find out in a unique and fun way how to identify your own personality type and then those of the people with whom you interact. Rebecca will use the Insights color system to describe the traits of four different personality types and give some useful Do's and Don'ts for communicating with each type.
Moderator Bio: 
Rebecca Bales is a senior account manager for Insights Learning & Development of North America. She is a member of the global faculty for Insights L&D, facilitating the Insights Accreditation Program. With a background in human dynamics and psychology, Rebecca works with all levels of employees from senior leadership to front line. Rebecca manages a robust group of accounts across several industries. With years of experience in organizational development and redesign, Rebecca serves the Insights community with her consultancy skills, leadership expertise and executive coaching. She has developed customized curriculum for specific client needs - particularly in the area of leadership development. She is skilled at working with leaders of all levels and assisting individuals in finding their personal path to excellence.
A recipient of Insights' "Excellence in Facilitation" award, Rebecca utilizes a "Socratic" facilitation style, engaging her audience's by inciting participation and ownership. Rebecca has presented speeches and presentations to audience groups ranging in size from six to hundreds. An experienced facilitator and presenter, Rebecca has led over 200 sessions including a number of professional organizations such as the Society of Human Resource Management, the American Society of Training and Development and Executive Women in Texas Government.
