Questionmark to Hold Awarding Bodies Symposium on

Online Assessment

LONDON: 23 October, 2007 – Questionmark, a leading provider of testing and assessment software, will hold a one-day symposium for awarding bodies on the 28th of November, 2007, in Coventry.

Awarding bodies, which provide a wide range of occupational qualifications as well as GCSE’s, A levels and GNVQs, are increasingly concerned about the potential security risks and costs of introducing e-Assessment by 2009—a change mandated by the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA), which regulates awarding bodies in the United Kingdom.

The symposium, to be held one day before the Federation of Awarding Bodies conference in Coventry, will address participants’ concerns through case study presentations and demonstrations of relevant features within the Questionmark™ Perception™ assessment management system.

Participants in the symposium will:

  • Learn about the latest advances in online assessment authoring, delivery and management
  • Explore how to reduce costs using secure, online test delivery options
  • See the latest results management, analytics and reporting technologies
  • Learn about the role of technology in ensuring legal defensibility
  • Find out how to maximise security and limit exposure of test items to candidates

Guest speakers will include Stefanie Moerbeek and Lex Hendriks from the Examination Institute for Information Sciences (EXIN). EXIN is a global, independent provider of IT certification services. EXIN's mission is to advance the quality of the IT sector and the IT services by promoting the certification of professionals and users based on trainer independent testing and certification. EXIN uses Questionmark Perception to develop and deliver exams worldwide in 14 languages.

Complete information about the symposium, which is open to all awarding bodies, is available at www.questionmark.com/go/awarding
