The Word Authoring Templates can be downloaded from the following location.
Ensure that the Question Authors computers meet the system requirements for the application.
The system requirements for Word Authoring Templates are:
To run Word Authoring Templates on PCs
Either Microsoft Office 2000, XP, 2003 or 2007 must be installed. Microsoft Word must be installed as part of the Microsoft Office installation.
To run Word Authoring Templates on Macintosh computers
Either Microsoft Word 2004 or Word X must be installed.
The process of running the Word Authoring Templates changes depending on which version of Word you are using. The instructions below are provided for:
To run the Word Authoring Templates for Question Authors:
On your PC or computer system, create a new folder (for example, C:\QuestionAuthoringTemplates)
If you are using a Windows PC:
Copy the QuestionAuthoringTemplate.doc file into the new folder
If you are using an Apple Macintosh PC:
Copy the QuestionAuthoringTemplate.doc file into the new folder
Copy the QuestionmarkMacOptimize.doc file into the new folder
Start Microsoft® Word
Click Macro
Click Security
Click Security Level (if the Security Level tab is not already displayed)
Click Medium, so that it is set
Click Trusted Publishers (or Trusted Sources)
Click Trust all installed add-ins and Templates, so that it is checked
Click Trust access to Visual Basic Project, so that it is checked
Click OK
Click File
Click Open
Navigate to the folder you created earlier
Double-click on QuestionAuthoringTemplate.doc to open it
Click Enable Macros
A blank screen will be displayed with the Questionmark logo in the top right corner

The functionality and security in Word 2007 has been improved. To run Word Authoring Templates you will need to:
On your PC or computer system, create a new folder (for example, C:\QuestionAuthoringTemplates)
If you are using a Windows PC:
Copy the QuestionAuthoringTemplate.doc file into the new folder
Start Microsoft® Word 2007
Click More Commands from the Quick Access Toolbar

Click Trust Center
Click the Trust Center Settings... button
Select the Enable all macros
Place a tick in the Trust access to the VBA project object model check box
Click OK
