Question:

How can I register Authoring Manager with a generic license key?

Answer:

For large Authoring Manager deployments, where there are typically over 100 authors using Authoring Manager, Questionmark may on request to your account manager issue a generic license. This will make registering Authoring Manager easier and quicker.

Before a generic license can be issued, you will need to provde Questionmark with a generic email address (such as authoringmanageruser@xyzcompany.com). Questionmark will then generate a license key associated with this email address and create a Questionmark Communities account for it.

Once the generic license has been issued, you can register Authoring Manager in the usual way:

  1. Start Authoring Manager
  2. Click Register on the splash screen

You can also open the Licensing Wizard from within Authoring Manager by selecting About Authoring Manager... from the Help menu and clicking Register New License.

  1. The Licensing Wizard opens, which will guide you through the registration process.

Select Register via the Internet to register online, or Enter Registration Key manually to register offline.

  2. If registering online, enter your generic email address and password. If registering offline, enter your generic email address and registration key.
  3. Click Next to complete the registration process.
