The RMS install program is available from the Download page of the Questionmark Web site.

|
The user running the install program must have administrative privileges on the target machine |
The install program requires you to enter a password before it will install the RMS. This password should have been sent to you by email. Please contact Questionmark if you have not received this email. For details about contacting Questionmark, please refer to Finding more information.
The install program will guide you through each step in the installation process, prompting you to specify your preferences at each stage. For further details about the information that is required for the installer, please refer to Install program prerequisites. The standard web shares required to run the Results Management System will be created automatically by the install program unless you specify otherwise.
If you intend to run the RMS and Perception on the same server, please refer to Installing the RMS on the same server as Perception. If you intend to install the RMS components onto individual servers, please refer to the Advanced installation across multiple servers.
If your organization intends to run the RMS with SSL encryption, please refer to Configuring SSL in the Advanced configuration chapter after running the RMS installer.
The install program will set up the required configuration information for the RMS. You will need the following information available during the installation process.
The name of your RMS database server
The Perception database server name
The Perception database type (SQL Server or Oracle)
The Perception database login ID and password
If using SQL Server 2000/2005 you will need:
The Systems Administrator ('sa'), or another user setup with similar permissions, login ID and password for your database server
The Perception database name
The privileges to create an SQL Server database user for the RMS database. For further instructions please refer to Creating an SQL Server database user for RMS
If using Oracle 9i or 10g you will need to complete the following tasks before running the RMS Installer:
Create a Tablespace
Create a User
For further details about creating the appropriate Tablespace and user in Oracle, please refer to Creating an Oracle Tablespace and User
Once the installer has been downloaded onto the target machine, the install program can be run by double-clicking the install program icon. You will be guided through the install process by the install wizard.
